Writing on the ViWoods AiPaper Mini is a pleasant experience; it's fluid, and it almost feels like paper. There's a pleasing audible noise when writing or drawing (which helps a lot, cognitively speaking), and the glare-free canvas is very readable, even in this summer's bright sunshine.

ViWoods is the only other company I'm aware of that offers a native Mailbox app that you can set up to send and receive emails. In fact, you can even handwrite your replies that the AI assistant can then convert to text before sending.

Reading manga was part of of why I bought an AiPaper Mini, and I've been pretty happy with that part using Mihon too. The size is perfect for manga, there is a little bit of ghosting especially on pages with a lot of black but flipping pages seems quick to me even in the best display mode and there is still the quick gesture for full refresh if needed.

I bought this for pdf reviews and masters level academic work. I am honestly really impressed. Hand writing recognition is excellent, and generally I can't fault it. The software takes getting used to, and the hardware feels slightly underpowered (speed wise) but these are actually insignificant. The way it actually works is excellent. 100 percent recommend.

Got my Viwoods AiPaper Mini on 8/13—since most discussions here are about the larger model, here’s a quick recap of my experience! Pros: Great stylus feel, amazing battery (days of use, 1 charge/week with heavy writing), useful AI (sends notes to Gemini Pro for recognition/extra info), handy “Picking” (screenshot + markups), solid Google Drive PDF backups, smooth reading (ePubs/WeChat Reading). Overall, it’s a fantastic device—even with small flaws.

Great review, exactly my thoughts after a couple of days of using the AI Paper Mini. The thing I appreciate the most is how quickly it wakes up, it’s sooooo much faster than the Kimdle Scribe I’ve been using for a while. And I absolutely love the screen cast function: it’s so convenient to sketch a quick diagram on the tablet and then share it with the colleagues via Zoom.

The notes app - I love all of the pens and options that we have available to use, the ease of adjusting templates, and that the templates are per page not notebook. Every time I write on this device, it genuinely brings me joy and delight that I haven't experienced since using my fountain pens between the writing feel and the actual performance of the app, it just feels wonderful to me.

Having both devices, I find the VW Mini far more versatile esp. when the usage of different apps like Kindle, OldReader (RSS feeds), or Instapaper is sth. one needs. BTW: The Viwoods software has a transparent sleep screen, so you may well keep your last opened page/app on display.

I have both the mini and her big sister. I personally prefer the mini for reading and writing. I haven’t noticed any issues with latency, precision, or responsiveness when using the mini compared to her big sister. In fact, the mini has a unique scratchy feel to the writing that I find more enjoyable. I hope this helps!

I actually use both and with the new sync feature these devices (I believe) are the best out there. I use my mini when I'm at meetings and on the go when I travel because of the backlight and the small size. It's great for travel and you never know when you'll need that backlight for low-light conditions.

smooth writing and great for focused reading

I’ve been using this 8.2" AI E‑Ink tablet for a while now, and it has genuinely exceeded my expectations in several ways. The first thing that stood out to me was the clarity of the display — the 292PPI screen makes text look incredibly crisp, almost like reading from a high‑quality printed page. Whether I’m reading articles, ebooks or handwritten notes, everything appears sharp and easy on the eyes. The adjustable front light is another huge plus.

Great Size and a really useful product.

Very well built and useful product. I only currently use this purely as a notebook and have not delved into the AI capabilities. However I find it incredibly useful for work and thoughtful naming of notes and tasks makes it easy to search unlike a paper notebook. I am sure I will enjoy the many features as time goes by but even as a notebook it ticks all the boxes. It is light and very portable.
